Random meme-type thingy just to let you all know I am still around.
It is 100% nabbed from
omgzdani and as random as they come. Thank you Dani.
Here is how you do it:
1 ► Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 ► Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your album.
3 ► Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 ► Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.
5 ► Post it with this text in the "caption" and TAG the friends you want to join in.
This is my band then; NSW (disambiguation), and album ended up being called "Reality than anything else".
Yes, we like it cryptic here in Shadey-land.

I'm not tagging anyone but you're all welcome to join this procrastinatory bit of fun.
So, would you buy my album? I think it's safe to say it won't be your usual run-of-the-mill pop music.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Now that I am in Denmark for Christmas and New Year (arrived two days ago), I found time last night to make a tiny little present for you all, because I want you to know that I miss you terribly and I miss roaming and participating in the simming community. *grouphug*
This present is then not only something for your game, it is also my way of saying "I am still around and I will be back!"
This present is then not only something for your game, it is also my way of saying "I am still around and I will be back!"
Don't ask me what I was doing surfing YouTube when I was meant to be doing System Development homework but I came across this Sims 2 trailer which I haven't seen before and I simply had to share with my fellow simmers.
Unfortunately most of the animations in this trailer wasn't included in the game but still, you've got to admit it's pretty funny.
My favorite part is undoubtedly when they two alien guys get their probes out and the two Knowledge guys promptly clasp their hands on their bums.
So yes, I have seen a probe.

-I'll respond by asking you five questions to satisfy my curiosity.
-Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
-Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions.
1. Which do you prefer, coffee or tea?
Haha, I'm greedy; I like both.
English Breakfast tea with milk is my ultimate comfort drink, I usually have it in the evening. Green tea is my morning drink and then I have herbal teas during the day. Coffee is my after-meal drink, especially after dinner. I also use coffee as my work-drink; having a cup of coffee beside me when I'm working on something really helps me focus and get on with stuff.
So you'll rarely find me without a cup of something beside me and yes; though I frequently have to re-heat them in the microwave, I am also very used to drinking them cold.
2. What's the best thing that has happened to you this year?
Getting an A in HNC computing. Absolutely! I have never before achieved something like that before.
3. Do you have any pets?
My daughters have guinea pigs but they might as well be mine as I am the one who takes most care of them.
Growing up we always had cats and I am very fond of cats, but in my late teens I unfortunately developed an allergy towards cats, otherwise I would definitely have a cat now. Or several.
4. What are some of your guilty pleasures?
You mean apart from simming my life away?
Red wine, crisps and Danish brie. Not necessarily together.
A very guilty pleasure of mine is also that I rather enjoy watching real life emergency programs; ambulance/police/fire rescues, that sort of stuff. I know my mum always taught us not to stop and stare if we saw an ambulance, and I completely agree and would never be a spectator to a emergency unless I felt there was some way my presence was helpful, but I kinda feel that by watching real life emergencies on TV I am not stopping to stare as such but still getting that somewhat perverse curiosity sated.
5. What made you decide to share your hilarious and wonderful Sim challenges?
Very sweet of you to call them that, thank you.
Umm, well I started out on the BBS (don't judge me, I didn't know of all the other great sites) but soon leant of Boolprop.com's existence. I lurked at Boolprop for absolutely ages, feeling that I couldn't just come barging in, but when Bitsy posted the OWBC rules I just knew I had to try that challenge, so I became a member. I had never published sims stories before so it was nerve wracking to do so but my story was well received and now I feel I am old hand at that challenge, and that in spite of the fact that I haven't finished it yet.

I was tagged by
leaths to do a 'Ten Things About A Sims Character' about Byte Pinch from my OWBC, and by
leilia and
pettech68 to do one about Chisel Jersey Pinch, also from my OWBC.
Thank you so much guys, I am so pleased you feel these characters deserve their very own meme.

I say it's too hot to do anything, to think even.
I am on holiday, was staying in a cabin in Belgium for a little week (which was lovely BTW and lots of fun) - but with no Internet access at all. Now I'm in Denmark staying in my dad's place - where there is good Internet access but where there's family to be visited and stuff my kids want to do, and where the current daytime temperatures hover round the 30 Celsius mark, far higher than anything I am used to.
So; (to get to the purpose of this post) I'm having a lovely holiday but it unfortunately creates variety of obstacles in my commenting on the stories/threads I follow and I hope you'll bear with me; I will get round to it, eventually.
How are you all doing? Up anything interesting simming or RL wise?

OK, don't get a heart attack now guys but yes, I have made an OWBC update, or rather an interlude.
This little story is told mostly from Chisel Jersey's point of view so please bear that in mind if you feel it is a somewhat childish-sounding story.
Comments in my thread at Boolprop.com, thanks.

Gooood Friday to you all.
Here comes a freshly baked update of my WYD challenge.
Whether the Buns in this update are hot and/or cross is for you to decide, just grab a chair and get comfy, it is - as usual - a lengthy ride.

Just popping by to post a link to my pink recolour of the Maxis Kozy Kitsch Gnome in case anyone thinks this wee fellow could brighten up their game.
Also throwing in what I think is a very successful attempt at doing a recolour of the Maxis Museé Public "Collection Sculpture"

I am ridiculously pleased with myself; I re-coloured a Sims 2 picture following a tutorial on MTS and was surprised how (relatively) easy it was.
So naturally I had to show off to someone who'd understand my happiness at having done this.

A. List ten habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag ten people to do the same. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it." And if I tag you, you're obliged to go through with this.
1. I consider myself a very calm and patient person, but last week when I told one of my fellow students just that, he burst out laughing; he thought it was a joke.
2. I play the guitar, a Trameleuc which I bought when I was young free and single and could spend a month's wages on top quality things like that.
3. My middle name is Alice.
4. Through most of compulsory school, I was the odd one out in class. I was often called weird and always took it as a compliment.
5. I talk to myself when I'm alone, I just can't help it. It has lead to some embarrasing situations sometimes, when I thought I was alone, but wasn't.
6. In my mid teens my greatest wish was to travel the world, so much so that my friends nick-named me "Marco".
7. Talking of traveling; when I was 13 my dad took me and my cousin to Turkey for a month. He converted his big work van to a camper van, of sorts, and simply took me out of school for the whole month. I had the time of my life and learnt so much on that trip.
8. When I was a child I wanted to become an actress, I loved doing school plays, and that in spite of being quite a shy and introverted child.
9. I love getting people to guess where I'm from. I have lived here in Highlands of Scotland half my life and have aquired quite an odd accent. Most guess that I'm from Holland, some from Ireland, one thought I was from Poland and one once guessed England - but he was well plastered so that probably doesn't count. Only two people ever guessed right; that I am from Denmark.
10. The last concert I was at was in October last year with Franz Ferdinand, at a small intimate location, and I mean intimate - I was only 5 meters away from Alex Kapranos!
